Description

Located in the foothills of the Himalayas in West Bengal, Darjeeling is  known for its distinct and delicate flavour, often described as a combination of floral, muscatel, and fruity notes.

Darjeeling tea is often classified into different “flushes,” which refer to the periods of the year when the tea leaves are harvested. The main flushes are the First Flush (spring), Second Flush (late spring to early summer), Monsoon Flush (rainy season), and Autumn Flush (fall). Each flush imparts unique flavours to the tea due to variations in climate and growing conditions.

Our Darjeeling is a Second Flush – The Second Flush Darjeeling tea is particularly famous for its “muscatel” flavour, which is reminiscent of the muscat grape. This flavour profile is a result of the specific combination of weather conditions during the Second Flush harvest.

To Make: place a heaped teaspoon of tea per cup into a teapot or infuser. Add hot water (90ºc) and allow to infuse for 3 minutes.
